Women's Aid Partnership

Charity Partnership

This week Travel Ireland director Paul Cunningham, and City Sightseeing Director George Grimley were proud to unveil their charity partnership for 2026 in the form of an ad on one of our iconic Hop on Hop off City Sightseeing double-deckers. We have long been supporters of Women’s Aid NI and as a business with so many men on the payroll we wanted to show our allyship with our female colleagues and the women and children in our lives and our communities.

History

Women’s Aid NI was initially setup in 1975 with a Belfast branch and followed in 1977 with groups in Derry/Londonderry and Coleraine forming the Northern Ireland Women’s Aid Federation in 1978. Over 50 years later, Women’s Aid NI are still assisting women and children affected by domestic abuse across Northern Ireland with emergency accommodation, confidential information and advice. Women’s Aid also work closely with other agencies to help anyone needing support from domestic and sexual abuse and will refer callers to Cara Friend, The Rainbow Project, Men’s Advisory Project, Nexus and others.

Testimonial

“Every year, thousands of women, children and young people come to us for support after experiencing domestic abuse. We are incredibly grateful to Travel Ireland Coaches for supporting our work to create a society where everyone can live free and safe from abuse.

We’re also thankful for the opportunity to share an awareness raising advert on one of their iconic sightseeing buses. As it travels across Belfast on hundreds of journeys this year, we hope it reaches someone who needs support and encourages them to reach out.

A huge thank you to all the staff at Travel Ireland Coaches for their support” Women’s Aid NI

Events

Later in the year we will be running a couple of fun activities with our staff to raise money to donate to Women’s Aid to support their vital work. Please donate and share widely. These events will be announced on our social media platforms so please keep an eye out for these and join in to help a great cause!
