Derry Halloween Festival – 40th Anniversary

Experience the magic of Europe’s Largest Halloween Festival as Derry celebrates its spectacular 40th Anniversary in 2026. For four unforgettable days, the historic Walled City is transformed into a world where ancient Samhain traditions meet breathtaking modern-day Halloween celebrations, creating an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

Streets come alive with incredible costumes, roaming characters, haunting performances and family-friendly entertainment. From ghouls, witches and zombie nuns to disco-loving skeletons and mythical fairies, every corner of the city is filled with excitement, making this one of Europe’s most unique and immersive festivals.

The highlight of the celebrations is the world-famous Carnival Parade, beginning at 7:00pm. Join tens of thousands of spectators as spectacular illuminated floats, talented performers, giant creations and incredible costumes make their way through the streets in a vibrant celebration of community, creativity and the spirit of Halloween.

As the evening reaches its thrilling conclusion, gather along the River Foyle for the Fireworks Finale. Watch the night sky burst into colour as dazzling fireworks illuminate the city’s famous landmarks, providing a spectacular ending to an unforgettable Halloween experience.
