Giants Causeway Tour

Giants Causeway

Join the only Giant’s Causeway day tour to have a 5 star accreditation from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Departing Belfast at 9am you will travel in a luxury air-conditioned coach to discover the beauty of County Antrim.

We are the only tour company to travel straight to the Giant’s Causeway, in doing this we arrive before all the other tour operators. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy this UNESCO World Heritage site without the queues. Admission to the Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre is included in the cost of the tour.

After departing the Giant’s Causeway we make a photo stop at Dunluce Castle as it clings to the cliffs overlooking the Irish Sea. We then have a lunch stop at the Fullerton Arms Hotel (cost not included) before going to a viewing point overlooking Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. As the bridge is still closed this gives a great opportunity to see and hear the history of the rope bridge that was originally erected by salmon fishermen.

The coach will now join the Antrim Coast Road, one of the top five scenic roads in the world with breathtaking views. The next stop is the small coastal village of Carnlough before a photo stop at Carrickfergus to take in Carrickfergus Castle. It is only a short journey from here back to Belfast to finish the tour.

Tour Itinerary

Giant’s Causeway

The Giants Causeway, commonly called ‘the 8th wonder of the world’, it is the only world heritage site in Ireland. During our stop here you can spend time climbing over the ancient stones, snapping photos and reflecting on the myths and legends of this very unique area.

Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre

Irish Tour Tickets is the ONLY tour company in Belfast that grants our customers access to not only the Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre but additional access to an Audio Guide experience in 17 languages and the opportunity to partake in a personally guided 45 minute walking tour (in English).

Dunluce Castle (Photo Stop)

We then make our way to Dunluce Castle for a photo opportunity. This now-ruined medieval castle sits perched on the edge of a basalt cliff and is one of the most picturesque castles anywhere in Ireland.

Bushmills Whiskey Distillery (Please note there is no time for the official tour)

Our next stop of the day is at Bushmills Whiskey Distillery which has been creating beautiful ‘water of life‘ since 1608 making this the oldest working distillery in Ireland. Visit this place where family and friends have worked together for generations with the philosophy that hand crafting small batches is the way to create beautifully smooth whiskey. Your stop here allows time for tasting of course!

Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge (Not accessible due to Covid-19 restrictions)

After lunch, we visit the amazing Carrick a Rede rope bridge – where you can view the bridge which spans a chasm over 75ft in height. The lovely coastal path provides a spectacular walk with stunning sea and cliff views.

Drive through Cushendall, Glenariff and Cushendun villages

The Antrim Coast Road is widely agreed to be one of the finest stretches of road anywhere in the world. The road hugs the coastline giving incredible seaside views, passing unspoilt beaches, sheltering under rugged cliffs and the villages of Cushendall, Glenariff and Cushendun. You may even see Scotland on a good day!

Carnlough

Our second last stop of the day takes us into the picturesque fishing village of Carnlough for a quick comfort break. The village stop is a fitting end to your trip as you take in the quaint harbour used by pleasure boats and small fishing vessels in an area rich for both sea and fresh water angling.

Carrickfergus Castle

Our last stop is at Carrickfergus Castle, situated on the northern shore of Belfast Lough. This Norman Castle, which dates back to 1177, was besieged in turn by the Scots, Irish, English and French for centuries. It remains one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland and presents a great opportunity for photographs.
