COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

The health and safety of our customers is our number one priority and we are aware that your travel plans may change during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have therefore put together the following frequently asked questions and answers section which will hopefully help with any concerns or queries you may have regarding booking tours given the current situation.

Why are there no tours available?

There are no tours available as we are following the governments regulations to cease operations to help stop the spread of COVID 19. Our tours will restart on 1st May 2021.

When will tours restart?

With adhering to government guidelines, we are hoping to start operation on a few of our tours beginning 1st May 2021.

What is being put in place to help stop the spread of COVID 19?

Liquid hand sanitizer will be available on all the buses for our passengers and staff along with social distancing being put in place on board. All updates regarding COVID 19 can be found following this link:

I have bought a ticket from City Sightseeing Belfast, is it still valid?

We are offering to hold tickets for 1 year if your trip has had to be rescheduled. Other inquiries can be sent to

Are other attractions open?

It is the choice of the attraction of when they decide to open and how they are to adhere of social distancing regulations. We will be working close with popular attractions in Belfast.

Can I book a tour for the remainder of 2021?

We will be back operating from May 2021 adhering to government guidelines on social distancing. You can buy a ticket for later in the year also with our ‘BUY NOW-TOUR LATER’ option.

What happens if I have a valid ticket, but my travel plans have changed because of COVID 19?

If your travel plans have changed due to COVID-19, you have two options:

1. Vouchers with a travel date from 16th March 2020 until 31st July 2020 have until 31st July 2020 to cancel your tickets. If you want to postpone the use of your tickets, your voucher will be valid until 31 December 2020.

2. Vouchers with a travel date from 1st August 2020 until 31st December 2020: You can cancel your tickets up to 24 hours before the date selected at the time of purchase. If you want to postpone the use of your tickets, your voucher will be valid until 31st December 2020.

Does the 48-hour cancellation policy still apply if my travel plans have been affected due to COVID 19?

If you have a voucher booked between 16th March and 31st July, you have until the latter date to cancel. For any booking dates made for after the 31st July, the policy is:
Free cancellation of booking up to 72 hours before departure date, no admin fee imposed.

Free change of date up to 12 hours before departure date, no admin fee imposed. Change of date can be within 1 year of purchase.

My trip has been postponed because of COVID 19 but will be coming to Belfast sometime in the future. Can I use my voucher?

The answer is yes! We are offering to transfer dates up to one year. Please contact to change your date.

Do I need a new voucher if I decide to change my date?

Get in contact with us at and we can send you through a new voucher with a new date! You can show this voucher on your phone when you come to join.

What if I had a booking made but my travel date was before the 16th March 2020?

Any customer with a booked tour date before 16th March will have their vouchers automatically extended for use until 31st December 2020. Our previous/standard cancellation terms and conditions apply to bookings made before this date. Please refer to your voucher terms and conditions.

What happens if I booked a ticket for an attractions but cannot go due to COVID 19?

Please email to see what can be done. Unfortunately, the cancellation policies for attractions are set forth by the attractions themselves and not by City Sightseeing Belfast.

Do these cancellation policies or changes in date apply to other websites (E.g. Expedia, Trip Advisor)?

These policies are exclusive to City Sightseeing Belfast. You will need to contact the provider itself to check their cancellation policy.

Do these cancellation policies or changes in date apply to combination tickets?

Yes, the new policies for cancelling or postponing tickets do apply to City Sightseeing Belfast combination tickets.

I am still waiting on my refund, when can I expect it?

We are working through cancellations daily and processing refunds when we can. There is a backlog with the banks due to COVID 19 so refunds will be back in bank accounts some weeks after they have been processed.
